The battle between Mercedes-Benz and BMW is getting fierce by the day as both the German automakers have been busy working on their sales and marketing strategies. Until last month, it seemed like Audi was doing the catching up as the figures until May suggested so. Till May 2011, BMW had sold 3,634 units and Mercedes-Benz wasn't far behind at 3,233 units. Audi too has managed to close the gap - they had clocked 2,394 units by May 2011 as compared to 3,003 in the whole of 2010.
In June however, BMW raced ahead with 890 units as compared to Mercedes-Benz's 565 and Audi's 408. This puts BMW squarely in the lead among the three German manufacturers, ahead of Mercedes-Benz by 726 units.
