A total of 202 vehicles, comprising of the M2, M3, M4, M5, 5 Series and 6 Series, has been issued a delivery stop by BMW worldwide.
Sources have added that a bulletin released by the car maker have divulged the details. Now as per BMW, the affected cars need to be fitted with a new rear differential. Though specifics regarding the problem were not obtained, it is obvious that replacing the differential would be the preferred choice over any complex repairs that need to be carried out.
BMW has dealt with quite a few recalls worldwide this year, which include problems with the ISOFIX child seat mounts, front driveshaft universal joint failing and also some airbag concerns. However, in this instance, the cars are believed to be produced between May 12, 2016 and July 4, 2016. As of now, there is no clear indication of where these cars were intended to be delivered. BMW has reiterated in the bulletin that a repair job is not available.
With the prevalent air of doubt amidst prospective owners, it sure looks like delivery times for the cars mentioned could get prolonged. While some of these cars are available in India, there has been no statement from BMW on this account.
