BMW has made a worldwide recall of all the 5-Series and 6-Series that were manufactured from 2003 to 2010. The German manufacturer has stated the reason for this recall is the incorrect mounting of the cable cover for the battery, which is located in the boot.
BMW suggests that due to the improper wiring, owners could face starting issues and worse scenario experience charring. BMW stated that only 9 cases have been reported so far, and hence this may not bother the existing owners. The company is sending out letters to its customers who have procured cars in the mentioned timeline. To avoid hindrance to its customers, the company has limited the replacement time to a maximum of 30 minutes.
