BMW India is constantly making efforts to improve its performanceadd to its sales in our country ever since their sales numbers have started dipping recently. With the introduction of new products and by increasing their network in smaller cities, the company plans to boost their sales figures which need a are due for a much-needed push.
The German carmaker sold 7,327 units showing a 22 per cent drop in sales. On the other hand, Mercedes and Audi showed a 32 per cent and 11 per cent hike in sales respectively, with the former selling 9,003 units and the latter delivering 10,002 vehicles to customers. Not wanting to stay behind, especially after falling down to third position in the Indian luxury car market from a pole position a year earlier, BMW wants to up its sales figures, improve its rank and is definitely working aggressively in that direction.
Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India and Sachin Tendulkar, famous cricketer and brand ambassador for BMW, launched the new BMW X5 diesel variant at an event in Pune. This is when Sahr disclosed BMW's plans of introducing new products and expanding its dealer network. He said, “BMW will expand the product range to cover all opportunities in the luxury car segment. The company will expand its dealer network to 50 in a year’s time (from 40 now), with a plan to aggressively push sales in both Tier-I and Tier-II cities."
This diesel variant of the 2014 BMW X5 was introduced globally two months ago and recently launched in India for a price of Rs 70.90 lakh. This third generation X5 is now the eighth model to be assembled at the carmaker's facility in Chennai. BMW will be able to cater to an Indian consumer by reducing prices and with their products at a cheaper rate by introducing more and more models in India through the CKD route. Let’s hope the vehicles from the automaker find a good demand in our country resulting to a hike in the sales.
