BMW has teased Gran Lusso Coupe concept in collaboration with the famed Italian design house, Pininfarina. Sporting a V12 engine, the model will debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in Italy on May 24. The most interesting bit is that the concept may be a preview of the future 8 Series.
The teaser image has BMW design cues including long bonnet, sloping roof, short overhands and bold crease running across the sides. Although the power out of the V12 has not been disclosed, we expect it to be same twin-turbo setup from the 7 Series developing 544bhp and 745Nm. The details of the interiors are expected only at the debut later this month.
The original 8 Series was a luxury GT available till 1999. While BMW has not made any specific announcement, the new model fits in the current BMW trend of building trendy cars based on the existing range – the 3 Series will spawn 4 Series coupe and the 6 Series is already an extension of the 5 Series.
