- BMW M8 Convertible to be brought via CBU route
- The model is likely to be launched in India in the first half of 2020
The BMW 8 Series Coupe was recently spotted testing in India. Now, the performance variant of the model has been spotted during a public road test. The model in question is known as the BMW M8 Convertible.
Unlike the BMW 8 Series Convertible, the M8 Convertible has a few distinct features such as the sportier front bumper, gloss black grille and quad exhaust pipes that help differentiate it from the former. The model is likely to be brought to India via the CBU route.
Powering the BMW M8 Convertible is a 4.4-litre, twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that is capable of producing 500bhp and 750 Nm of torque. This engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The model can sprint from 0-100 kmph in 3.4 seconds. BMW could launch the M8 Convertible in India in the first half of 2020. Once launched, the model will rival against the likes of the Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe.
