BMW M5 sedan has turned 35 years old. And to celebrate the super saloons mid-thirties, the Bavarian carmaker has revealed the limited run M5 Edition 35 Years. In keeping with the trend of the Jahre 30 edition of the 2014 M5, the new celebratory model is limited to just 350 units. And it looks brilliant in the frozen paint scheme. So let us have a detailed look at the BMW M5 Edition 35 Years through a picture gallery.
The more potent M5 Competition was taken as the start point for the Edition 35. Which means under the hood is a roaring twin-turbo V8 producing 616bhp and 750Nm.
The rest of the hardware remains the same. So the xDrive and Active M Differential are present as well. 0-100kmph is dispatched in a time of just 3.3 seconds.
But what makes the M5 Edition 35 Years special is the BMW Individual Frozen Dark Grey II metallic paint with a silk matte surface finish.
Another stand out feature is the 20-inch M light alloy wheels in new Y-spoke design finished in Graphite Grey. Also, the brake callipers are finished in high-gloss black.
But customers wanting some more bling can opt for the M carbon ceramic brakes which come with brake callipers done in gold.
And talking about gold, BMW has added trim finishes made up of something called ‘aluminium carbon structure gold anodized’ all across the cabin.
These gold trims are seen on the door trim, instrument panel and centre console. Meanwhile, the door sills and cup holder feature ‘M5 Edition 35 Jahre 1/350’ engravings.
The BMW M5 Edition 35 Years is slated to go on sale in July this year. Interestingly, BMW hasn’t revealed any details on its pricing.
But given that this limited run super sedan will find a home among the connoisseurs and collectors' garages, we assume that all of them must have been sold by the time you finish reading this.
