Following an unplanned appearance on BMW USA’s dealership ordering system, the M4 GTS has been spotted testing on the Nurburgring. Scheduled to go on sale early next year, this hard-core version of the M4 was seen stretching its legs with a bigger rear wing for improved downforce and high speed handling.
Based on the regular M4 coupe, this GTS version will boast of an aerodynamically enhanced body kit and a host of carbon fibre components to help it shed some weight. According to a few reports, BMW may offer laser headlamps and OLED tail lamps with the M4 GTS.
The GTS version will use the standard M4’s 3-litre turbocharged straight six engine albeit with a few upgrades to churn out 500bhp of power and 600Nm of torque.
When launched next year, the M4 GTS will compete with other track-focused cars like the Porsche Cayman GT4 and the Jaguar F-Type SVR.
