Now that the brand new M4 coupe is out and creating waves at the performance end of the market, it is now time for the convertible version to make a similar impression, if not better. According to a report by BMW specialist blog Bimmer Today, the M4 Convertible will make its global debut at the next month’s New York Motor Show.
Based on the M4 Coupe, the M4 convertible will feature a nearly similar exterior design but with the addition of a retractable hardtop. Like the standard model, the M4 convertible will source its power from a 3-litre, turbocharged 6 cylinder engine. Putting out 430bhp of power and 550Nm of torque, the engine is powerful enough to propel the coupe from zero to 100kmph in 4.1 seconds, which means it should have little problem allowing the heavier convertible model to put down a sub-5 second time.
BMW has plenty of new models in store for this year: something which is obvious from the brand’s New York Motor Show lineup. Cars like the all-new 4-Series Gran Coupe, Aplina B6 Gran Coupe, new X4 and the X5 eDrive are likely to appear at the coveted motor show.
