From the pictures it sure looks like BMW is working on a facelifted version of their M2.
There’s quite a bit of psychedelic camouflage on the headlamps, front bumper, rear diffuser and around the tail lamps which hint at the obvious tweaks to the styling. The M2, in all likeliness, is expected to continue using the 365bhp motor that spins out 465Nm of torque. However, reports state that an M2 CS variant may be in the works with a detuned version of the M4’s biturbo 3.0-litre motor that could probably make around 400bhp.
The M2 CS, if made a reality, will bring in beefier brakes to cope with the stronger motor, along with a host of other upgrades like a sportier body kit and a new set of alloys. The interiors are also expected to get some trim and updates to justify the premium. Sources suggest that a weight loss for the new car is also expected, though it will not be as drastic as the M4 GTS which shaved off 80kg over the standard car.
BMW may reveal the facelifted M2 alongside the regular 2 Series versions later this year, and the M2 CS could follow suit in early 2018. Stay tuned.
