What you see in the picture is a rendering of the BMW M2 CSL which is based on spy shots of the car doing the rounds at the Nurburgring. Ever since BMW’s M4 CS and the GTS have been introduced, enthusiasts suggest that a similar performance treatment may await the BMW M2.
Since we’re talking about performance, this model is expected to use a tweaked version of the same 3.0-litre turbocharged motor that could make close to 410bhp. It could be offered with the option of a seven-speed dual-clutch or a six-speed manual gearbox. This is a substantial increment when compared to the regular M2’s power output of 365bhp. Since the M2 is capable of hitting 100kmph from standstill in just 4sec, one can expect the M2 CSL to be slightly quicker whilst doingthe same feat.
Design cues are in line with the M4 GTS, and the car can be seen with aggressive air-dams, the grey paint shade, bright orange wheels and the large spoiler. On a finer note, BMW is known to be working extensively towards energizing the M models in the fleet. Peter Quintus, head of marketing, said, "Customers want a variety of different M models."
We shall bring you more news on BMW’s plans for the M2 in the time to come, so stay tuned.
