The hottest BMW sedans have been launched in their 2018 avatars in India. The 2018 M3 and M4 have been priced at Rs 1.30 crores and Rs 1.33 respectively. These are model year updates for the German automaker’s performance sedans and have been launched at the 2018 Auto Expo in Delhi.
In typical BMW fashion, the 2018 model year update to the M duo is a blink-and-miss affair. There are subtle changes to the headlamp’s lighting signature. So it gets the adaptive full-LED headlights and stylish new LED rear lights as standard. It also gets an updated navigation system and ConnectedDrive features, new leather upholstery and interior trims with the Multifunctional Instrument Display.
The show car was finished in a sinister matte black paint job riding on massive 20-inch Starspoke GTS wheels also done in stealth black. There is a new rear carbon-fibre wing added with an update to lend the sports coupe a more hardcore stance. Apart from these, no visual changes were discernible, even to the keen eyes.
Under the hood, the power figures remain the same as well. The 3.0-litre twin turbocharged straight-six produces 425bhp of power. The tyre ripping power figures is channelled to the rear wheels via a seven-speed M-spec double-clutch transmission thus shooting the coupe to a 100kmph in just 4.1 seconds from standstill. And about that promised sheer driving pleasure, it can also be had with a six-speed manual transmission.
In India, the M4 comes as the Bavarian alternative to the Mercedes-AMG GT, Jaguar F-Type, Nissan GTR and Porsche 911.
