BMW India has teased the M4 coupe on its official Facebook page. The performance coupe was unveiled last year at the 2014 Detroit Motor Show in January under the Bavarian automaker’s new nomenclature and has replaced the M3 coupe.
The BMW M4 is a product of performance sleeper category and does the job quite well. It is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder mill that produces 431bhp and 550Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual clutch automatic though we expect that only the latter will be offered for the Indian market. All this power enables the M4 to do 0-100kmph in 4.3 seconds and then go on to hit an electronically restricted top speed of 250kmph.
In terms of looks, the M4 is basically what the M3 would have been had the old naming convention continued. This means that both models share a very similar appearance which includes the famed Beemer kidney grille, low stance, large wheels and wrap-around LED tail lamps.
This is the second M model for the Indian market in 2014 as BMW had previously launched the M6 Gran Coupe at a function in Delhi on April 4.
