BMW India has teased the new 7 Series on its official Twitter account by giving us a preview of its laser headlights. The car will be officially be launched at the 2016 Auto Expo but was previewed to potential customers at an event in Goa earlier this month.
This is an all new generation 7 Series (codenamed G11) for the Bavarian automaker flagship sedan but in terms of looks it carries an evolutionary design both internally and externally.
The signature kidney grille dominates the front while it also appears to be wider than the predecessor and has more aggression with the angular headlamps, in line with their new design philosophy. Both the side and the rear profile have been redone to make the new car look bolder than before. The cabin layout is typical of what we have been seeing in the new range of BMW cars over the last few years.
This new 7 Series will be offered with three engines – two petrol motors and one diesel. We will get the long-wheelbase variants of the new BMW 7 Series – the 740Li, 750Li and the 730Ld. BMW will assemble the 730Ld in India via the CKD route, the petrol 740Li and 750Li will be imported as CBU. The all-new 7 Series will take on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Audi A8 and the Jaguar XJ.
