- BMW Group India reports a cumulative 13 per cent growth in sales in 2018
- BMW badged cars witness 11 per cent growth in 2018 as compared to 2017
- Mini brand has witnessed 66 per cent growth with 700 unit sales
BMW Group India has reported a cumulative 13 per cent increase in car sales with 11,105 units sold in 2018 as compared to 9,800 units sold in 2017. This includes the Mini range in the country. The group has sold 10,405 units of BMW badged cars, thereby witnessing a growth of 11 per cent. The Mini brand has witnessed an impressive growth of 66 per cent with a sale of 700 units of Mini car.
BMW SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles) have reportedly contributed up to 50 per cent of the overall sales in 2018, especially the X3 which has been the bestselling SUV in the country. Currently, the X1, X3 and the X5 are locally assembled at the Chennai facility and soon, the X4 and the X7 will also be locally assembled in the same facility. The BMW 5 Series sedan and the 6 Series GT which was launched at the 2018 Auto Expo event has also been a considerable contributor to the overall sales.
