BMW celebrates DTM championship with special edition M3

BMW officially returned to DTM in 2012 after a gap of 18 years, and dominated the series by winning the driver’s title, manufacturer title and also the team title. So the company has decided to celebrate the occasion with a limited version of the M3 called the DTM Champion Edition. 

The special model is all black, just like the winning Team Schnitzer’s BMW racecar driven by Bruno Spengler. The Frozen Black paint is complimented by matte black wheels and BMW’s M Stripes. The M3 DTM Champion Edition has decals on fender and rear window a, much like the circuit version, along with carbonfibre roof.

Additions to the interiors include limited edition badging with car’s sequence number on instrument panels trim. The door sill replicate Spengler’s helmet design and there are even more carbonfibre inserts all around.

BMW will build only 54 units of the M3 DTM Champion Edition starting February each priced at around USD 1,30,000 – along with an opportunity to attend BMW M Fascination Nordschleife driver training prrogramme at the Nurburgring.
