- BMW 8 Series Coupe testing for emission
- Could be launched in India by the end of the year
The BMW 8 Series Coupe was unveiled in June last year at Le Mans 24 hours. A single unit of the model was recently spotted during a public road test in Gurgaon, Haryana. The test-mule features emission testing equipment at the rear.
Dimension wise, the BMW 8 Series Coupe measures 4,843mm in length, 1,902mm in width and 1,341mm in height while the wheelbase stands at 2,822mm. Design wise, the 8 Series Coupe features an angular kidney grille with blacked-out slats and a chrome surround, LED headlamps, LED wraparound taillights, 20-inch alloy wheels and trapezoid-shaped exhaust vents.

Inside, the BMW 8 Series Coupe comes equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, Heads-Up Display (HUD) and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Also on offer is a crystal finished gear shifter.Â
Powertrain options for the BMW 8 Series include a 4.4-litre, eight-cylinder petrol engine and a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder diesel engine. The former produces 530bhp and 750 Nm of torque while the latter produces 320bhp and 680 Nm of torque. Both engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. BMW may launch the 8 Series Coupe in India by the end of 2019.
