The current generation BMW 7 Series has been around for a couple of years now. But the Bavarian carmaker is already busy updating the flagship saloon. A test mule of the Luxo-barge was spotted testing at BMW’s headquarter in Munich alongside the current car.
In a typical BMW fashion, the updated 7 Series will receive subtle tweaks around the bumpers. The headlamps still look under development, and will definitely receive a redesigned lightning signature. The bonnet too is cladded, which might suggest new creases and nothing more. Expect a reworked front bumper with newer air-vents to keep the design fresh.
The side profile remains unchanged, but the rear bumpers are concealed under the camo. The tail lights, if compared with the current car, hides a new motif. The rear bumpers will be slightly reworked. The exhausts are still nicely integrated into the bumper and the lower section appears slightly more angular compared to the current model.
No glimpse of the cabin is available right now. However, we expect BMW to introduce some more technologies and creature comforts with the update. The powertrain will be carried forward as well. However, there is a new hybrid powerplant on the cards which will join the already available 740e.
The new and updated G11/G12 7 Series will be launched only next year as a 2019 model year update.
