BMW 2 Series Convertible has been spied testing again in Europe with minimal camouflage. The 2 Series convertible will get a retractable soft-top roof instead of a metal one (like the Z4) as is evident from the spy pictures.
The 2 Series Convertible has also been spotted before, but in a different guise wearing M Sport bumpers and M235i wheels. However, this time the car is seen with different bumpers and alloy wheels, and more importantly twin tail-pipes unseen on the 2 Series yet.
BMW might offer the Convertible also with a choice of three engine options for the 2 Series Convertible two petrols and one diesel. The base petrol variant is likely to get the four-cylinder 2.0-litre TwinPower engine in two state of tune producing either 181bhp or 241bhp. The top-of-the line petrol variant will get the six-cylinder 3.0-litre TwinPower petrol engine churning out 321bhp and 450Nm of torque. The diesel variant powered by the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine will be available in three different tunings producing 140bhp, 181bhp or 214bhp. BMW will offer a choice of two transmissions a six-speed manual or an optional eight-speed automatic gearbox.
In India, we may not get the convertible variant, rather we might see the coupe in our showrooms. The BMW 2 Series convertible is all set to be launched in the coming months. We are not sure how long BMW takes to introduce it here, but we the enthusiasts will pray that BMW launches the 2 Series in 2015.
