BMW’s maiden MPV, the 2 Series Active Tourer now gets an M Sport package. It is being priced from Rs 23.4 lakh (Euro 32,920) onwards for the base 216i variant. The M package costs Rs 4.24 lakh (Euro 5,970) additionally over the standard variants in Europe.
As a part of the M package the 2 Series Active Tourer gets 18-inch alloy wheels, redesigned front bumper, larger air dams, new side sills, kidney grille finished in high gloss. At the back, it gets a diffuser and tail pipes finished in chrome. Inside the cabin, it gets M Sport steering wheel, shift knob and sport seats in blue Alcantara.
Mechanically, there won’t be any changes as BMW’s famed M division seems to be in no mood to make the MPV go faster than it can now. Instead, it will use the same powertrains that are found in the 2 Series Active Tourer as it is more of an aesthetic change.
The 2 Series Active Tourer was launched in the international markets last year and BMW is yet to launch it in India. Once launched it will compete with the Mercedes-Benz B-Class here. There is no news from BMW India on this MPV being launched here, but we expect it to be launched sometime this year.
