The BMW 1 Series GT spied testing in Europe. The car that has been spied is the long wheelbase seven-seater versions and will be based on the German automaker’s new front wheel drive UKL platform. This platform is expected to underpin around two dozen vehicles in both the BMW and Mini range.
The seven-seater MPV, according to a report from Worldcarfans, is believed to based on the Active Tourer concept that was unveiled by the German automaker at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. The concept car is a seven-seater vehicle and will be powered by a 1.5-litre twin turbo mill. The mill has been coupled with an electric motor to have a total output of 188PS and 200Nm of torque. We expect that this configuration will continue for the 1-Series GT also. Along with the petrol mills, we also expect BMW to offer a set of diesel engines with the same capacity and output.
