If a recent report by Autocar UK is to be believed, BMW is likely to bring the 1 Series facelift to the 2015 Detroit Motor Show in January 2015. The premium hatchback will go on sale globally soon after its public debut.
As far as design changes are concerned, the 1 Series facelift will get a new front grille, bigger air intakes and revised headlights with new detailing. At the back, the facelifted model will be differentiated with redesigned taillights and a more bulging rear bumper. Inside, the car will use the latest version of BMW's iDrive infotainment system.
The existing engine and gearbox range will be carried over to the facelifted model, although one can expect BMW to make minor revisions for improved fuel economy and emissions. The 1 Series is expected to go on sale globally early next year. Going by the increasing customer base among entry-level premium cars, BMW India will be looking to bring the facelifted 1 Series soon after its global debut.
