The BMW 1 Series facelift with M Sport package has been spied in Lisbon, Portugal. The car was a 118d xDrive claims the source and as is evident from the pictures was seen wearing the striking estoril blue metallic paint job.
The new BMW 1 Series 118d now gets a new B47 powerplant which produces 4bhp more than the old N47 diesel mill. It is said that this engine sounds good, is more efficient and with that marginal power hike performs better. The 118 xDrive is only available with a manual gearbox while the 120 xDrive gets an eight-speed automatic.
It is estimated that the prices will go up by 3,500 – 4,000 Euros for the M Sport package over the standard 118d xDrive model.
In India, the 1 Series hasn’t had a great run, it also faced a lot of flak for its not so luxurious interior, weird looks and high price. However, we believe BMW might launch the facelifted model later this year. We might not get the xDrive variants, but the rear-wheel drive 118d along with the 116i which gets the new 3-cylinder 1.5-litre TwinPower turbocharged petrol engine. The 1 Series competes with the A-Class and the Volvo V40 Cross Country and is currently priced from Rs 22.65 to 32.50 lakh.
