- First head units from Blaupunkt to have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Osaka is specific to Toyota models, Monte Carlo is standard 2DIN head unit
- Osaka priced at Rs 35,000, Monte Carlo at Rs 30,000
Blaupunkt has launched two new head units for the Indian marketplace. They are named the Osaka 760 and Monte Carlo 750, respectively. They are the first head units with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in Blaupunkt’s lineup.
The features list is quite long – some of the highlights are a 6.75” capacitive touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity, a reversing camera, and the ability to couple with steering-mounted controls. The Monte Carlo 750 misses out on a few features that the Osaka 760 offers. For example, the former has a 3-band equaliser compared to the latter’s 10-band one. The Osaka also offers high-pass filters with selectable frequency and slope, and a low-pass filter for the subwoofer out. One other unique feature it offers is a digital time delay between the front and rear speakers, to set up a sound stage for either the front or rear seats. All the extra features place the Osaka at a Rs 5000 premium over the Monte Carlo, which retails at Rs 30,000.
