Best car discounts available in January

January is the time when most car companies enforce their customary price hike and hopes of getting discounts are a little bleak. Nevertheless, there are a few offering great deals even at the start of the year and here is a compiled list of best offers for the month.

Chevrolet: The Beat, Sail and Enjoy are available with healthy benefits of Rs 65,000. The advertisement in the newspaper was specifically for Delhi, but the dealers in rest of the country are offering similar deals. The amount looks pretty lucrative considering the Beat hatchback; it is more than 10 per cent of the ex-showroom price even at the top-end.

Fiat: The Italian carmaker is offering benefits worth Rs 1 lakh with the Punto Evo hatchback. The offer is valid till end of the month and available in most of the metro cities across India.

Maruti Suzuki: A certain dealership in Kolkata is offering deals worth Rs 61,000 on the 2015 stock of the Alto800.  Similarly, the Ciaz is enjoying discount of up to Rs 39,000 in Chennai.

Renault: The MUV sales have dropped drastically in the last couple of months, and the result is huge discounts on almost all models. Renault for example is offering discounts worth almost RS 1 lakh on the Lodgy across India. Even the Duster is available with benefits worth Rs 81,000 this month.

Tata: Most of the models in Tata’s range starting with the GenX Nano to the Safari Storme have been available with discounts for a while. The dealerships will offer discounts plus accessories worth up to Rs 55,000 on the Nano. The offers are obviously even bigger for the larger cars; a certain dealer in Lucknow is offering up to Rs 1 lakh on the Bolt. The Zest and Storme come with offers worth Rs 65,000.

Volkswagen: The company is offering a loyalty bonus of Rs 20,000, for the existing customers looking to buy the Vento sedan. There is also a lucrative finance scheme with interest of 3.99 per cent per annum. 

Like I always say, do negotiate with the dealers before agreeing up on the final amount. Since we are in January, every dealership will offer discounts on the previous year stocks. The drawback is that they will fetch lesser value in the secondhand market, but if you don’t intend to sell it within five years, the benefits of buying one are much higher. On the other hand, if you are paying more as per the revised January prices, do ask the dealership for an example from the 2016 stock.
