The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead coupe may well come across its fitting match if Bentley decides to put its newest concept on sale. The concept in question is the Grand Convertible which was recently unveiled by the British luxury automaker. It has now made its public debut at the ongoing Los Angeles Auto Show.
Bentley describes the Grand Convertible concept as the most sophisticated open-top car ever created by the British luxury marquee. Based on the Mulsanne, this convertible model gets the same looks, but without the two rear doors. The concept, of course, also gets a retractable soft top. With the exterior finished in Sequin Blue, there is also a splashing of silver “liquid metal” finish to the bonnet and the windscreen frame.
Powering the Grand Convertible concept is a 7.75-litre V8 engine with 530bhp of power and 1,100Nm of torque. Bentley has been putting this motor in its product range for many years now, in one form or the other.
Bentley has announced that they are awaiting the customers’ response to this concept. The Grand Convertible, then, will replace the old Azure if it’s due for arrival anytime soon.
