Bentley had mentioned that they would reveal a new model at the Goodwood festival of speed, and now they have announced that the new model will be the new Continental GT Speed, the performance-oriented version of the two-door. The upcoming model generates 616bhp from its 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 engine. Helping things along is 800Nm of torque, which coupled with a new close-ratio eight-speed automatic transmission dispatches the run to 100kmph in 4.2 seconds, and goes on to a top speed of 329kmph. Contributing to this performance is a retuned steering and suspension system, and lowered ride height.
Despite the increase in power and performance, fuel consumption has dropped by 12 per cent, as have emissions. Deliveries will begin later this year, and hey, if you’ve got to know the price, it’s too expensive for you. We ‘re kidding – Bentley hasn’t announced prices yet for the GT Speed, but will reveal them shortly.
