Bentley’s first ever SUV offering – the Bentayga has been spotted on test several times before, however, what you see here are spy shots of the high-performance Speed version. The all-new Bentayga will make its official debut later this year.
Design-wise, the Speed version features an additional spoiler lip at the bottom of the front and rear bumpers as well. The Bentayga Speed will also boast of bigger brakes and sportier looking wheels.
It’s under the hood where the Bentayga Speed will have that extra edge over the standard model range. While the Bentayga will produce around 610bhp from its 0.6-litre W12 engine, the Speed version will have over 700bhp, making it a supremely fast luxury SUV.
Bentley initially previewed the Bentayga with the EXP 9 F concept back in 2012 at the Geneva Motor Show. However, the concept received heavy criticism for its controversial design. The Bentayga, then, is expected to don a much more appealing design, as seen in the spy pictures. The SUV carries all the traditional Bentley design cues such as the massive grille, the quad headlamps and the wide oval tailpipes.
Bentley has announced that the Bentayga will be revealed later in 2015, followed by a launch sometime next year. The Bentayga will eventually take on other ultra-luxurious SUVs like the Range Rover and the Porsche Cayenne.
