Bentley claims that the Bentayga is the most luxurious and powerful SUV that’s available to buyers today. Add to that an asking price of Rs 3.85 crore (ex-showroom Delhi) and you might want to think that Bentley would have rested on its laurels.
Not the case though. Sources have now revealed that Bentley’s CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer has admitted at the Beijing Motor Show that we can expect a ‘Speed’ version of the Bentayga too. There is obviously no confirmation about exactly how much power the Bentayga Speed could carry. Nevertheless, we found out that most ‘Speed’ iterations have between a 30bhp and 65bhp raise in power output vis-à-vis their regular models. So if we were to put the Bentayga through the same exercise, we can expect a safe increase of about 45bhp - 55bhp. With already 600bhp available in the current car, we can assume that this SUV will crack its current acceleration and top speed figures.
Bentley launched the Bentayga in India on 22nd April and it will be interesting to see if the luxury car maker gets the Bentayga Speed here too.
