- Speed will be the flagship Bentayga
- It will get aero as well as interior upgrades
- 6.0-litre W12 engine will develop 650bhp of power
In Bentley’s language, Speed has a different meaning. It is not only about the ability to go faster but about the best possible luxury that the British marque can offer to their elite buyers. So, after building a few budget variants that would make the Bentayga more accessible, Bentley has decided to build the Bentayga Speed.
Based on the current top-spec W12 trim, the Bentayga Speed will have its 6.0-litre mill pumping out more than 600bhp for sure, making it one of the most powerful Bentleys ever. Even the torque output will be higher and the power will be sent to all four wheels through the all-wheel drive unit which has its origins in the famous Quattro.
For added horsepower, the Speed will have better brakes, a suspension system that allows more speed through the corners and, of course, the aero-styled bodywork. Which brings us to the rumour that the Bentayga Speed might see a big design change. And if it has to do something with the styling, we would be very interested, especially now that we have seen the Rolls-Royce Cullinan nail the SUV look. But, we will have to wait for one year at least to see what these updates are like.
