The Bentayga Hybrid, Bentley's first electrified model, was unveiled globally and is now available in Europe and North America. There's no confirmation about its launch in India, but with so many hybrid and electric cars coming in, we're optimistic about its imminent arrival in the near future. In the meanwhile, let's take a look at the details of this SUV through its picture gallery.
Powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 petrol engine, this plug-in hybrid variant of the Bentayga also comes with an electric motor.Â
Also working as a power generator, this electric motor produces 126bhp and 400Nm, taking the total torque output of the hybrid system to 700Nm.
Bentley claims a 5.5seconds time for its 0-100kmph sprint and a top speed of 254kmph. The SUV has three driving modes including EV Drive, which uses the electric motor to power the vehicle.
The battery takes 2.5 hours to recharge and in just electric mode, the SUV has a WLTP-approved range of 39km.Â
Interestingly, this Bentley Bentayga Plug-in Hybrid is claimed to be the carmaker's most efficient model. The carbon dioxide emissions are said to be 79 g/km.
In Hybrid mode, information from the navigation system helps optimise power usage. While in the Hold mode, the engine and electric power are balanced to maintain electric range for later use.
The SUV also boasts of brake energy regeneration, which recharges the battery during deceleration. What's more, the navigation system also displays the maximum range in EV mode.
