Bentley recently showcased the Bentayga First Edition at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Amid a few exclusive customers that were invited for the unveiling of this special edition, the manufacturer took the wraps off the restyled avatar of the SUV. Check out the details of the exclusive car that costs $297,000 (Rs 1.95 crore), even more expensive than the standard Bentley Bentayga SUV.
Based on Bentley’s standard SUV, the First Edition gets some additional elements to add to its exclusivity. Only 608 units of this trim will be made to represent the car's metric power output of 608PS.
Though the SUV is a big burly vehicle, it's actually quite nicely executed in this avatar. The car looks compact due to the immaculate lines and features, still retaining the aggressive stance of the SUV.
Upfront, the first thing that strikes you is the huge grille embellished in chrome. There is a carbon fibre front splitter and the fog lamp inserts are also surrounded by carbon fibre accents.
The large 22-inch alloy wheels, shod with Pirellis, are polished and finished in a silver and black tone. Then there are illuminated tread plates, a chrome beading and a Union Jack badging along the sides.
At the back, new LED tail lamps, a double rear spoiler, rear diffuser with dual exhausts add to the sporty appeal. The new Edition is still as imposing as the regular model of the SUV.
Under the hood is a 6.0-litre W12 engine that belts out 600bhp (608PS) and a 900Nm (663lb) of torque. It helps propel the car from 0kmph to 100kmph in four seconds to reach a top speed of 300kmph.
Inside the cabin, one will find typical Bentley elements exhibiting luxury and exclusivity. A Union Jack with First Edition badging can be seen on the dashboard detailed in metal, wood and leather.
Bentley has used ‘Diamond within Diamond’ quilted leather stitching for the seats. These embroidered seats come with the ‘First Edition’ badging with a unique contrast stitching.
There is plenty of legroom and headroom even for the rear seat occupants while they indulge in the most sophisticated interior with ambient lighting.
Out of the 608 units, 75 cars will be sold in the US and 400 will be reserved for Russian customers. Prospective buyers will be gifted a Bentayga Edition Breitling watch to commemorate its exclusivity.
