In February, we were the first to spot Mahindra’s mini-van while it was being tested on Indian roads. This mini-van will officially be launched on April 27 at Mahindra’s Kandivali plant.
The car resembles Tata’s passenger vehicle - Magic, but the strong line on the door of the car make it stand apart. Based on the Mahindra Maxximo, this mini-van will be a 7-seater and will be powered by a 2-cylinder engine with 24 bhp. It will compete with the Tata Magic.
A people mover, the Maxximo Passenger vehicle will be priced close to 3lakh. Mahindra's interest in this segment comes after the company invested Rs. 300 crore last year in its Chakan plant and its plans to expand the capacity at the plant are just infant steps to this project.
