We were trying to crack the code if Bajaj, Nissan and Renault are still together in the race to bringing out the Nano rival. We clear the air about this much debated issue.Â
It was reported that the three manufacturers split ways but Bajaj clearly denies the claim and says that the tie-up stands strong. Ashish Sinharoy, VP- Communications, Renault, too confirmed saying that," It is not a rumour, it is a misinterpretation. There is no disturbance in the alliance and the individual companies have chalked out their responsibilities in November 2009. The status quo as of November clearly states that Bajaj will take care of manufacturing and sourcing for the car and Renault-Nissan will look after marketing and branding in India and overseas."
It is a clear sign that there is no disturbance in the tie-up as regards the three manufacturers. The idea of the ultra-low cost car, which was exhibited in the Delhi Auto Expo, is very much on track and we hope to see it soon on the Indian roads.
