- Hits 100kmph in just over two seconds
- Over 500 km on a single charge
If you love Mustang’s, the 1967 model has to be on the top of the list. Not only did it look good but also attained cult status thanks to its heroics in the movie ‘Bullitt’. Aviar Motors, a Russian EV start-up has taken its love for this car a step further and created its first offering, the R67. The R67 as the name suggests is based on the 1967 Mustang Fastback and promises incredible acceleration, dynamics, and a high level of comfort.
Looks-wise, the R67 is a proper retro-modern. Vintage silhouette with modern bits in the form of headlights and those insane looking alloy wheels. On the insides, it’s pretty much akin to a Tesla Model S featuring a 17.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation, 11-speaker audio, keyless entry and start, LED ambient interior lighting, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, 12-way power-adjustable front seats with memory, and auto-dimming mirrors.
Under that long hood is also an electric motor from the Tesla with a 100kWh battery which allows a phenomenal 500 plus km range. The stonking dual-motor electric drive system pushes out a mental 840bhp and will enable the R67 to hit 100 kmph in 2.2 seconds flat and go on to hit a top speed of 250 kmph. And if you think you’ll miss that V8 rumble there is also an external sound system that simulates the operation of the engine and exhaust system of the legendary Ford Shelby GT500.
Pricing hasn’t been announced, and Aviar says cost will be on demand only. The car gets a one-year warranty and production will take around six months.
