The Autocar Performance Show held at the MMRDA grounds in Bandra-Kurla complex saw car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz, General Motors, Skoda Auto, Ford, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Jaguar and Land Rover, Fiat India, Premier and Mahindra & Mahindra displaying their cars. MapMyIndia was there in full force with their navigation systems, as was Garware with their product range. JCB showcased their record breaking Diesel Max, and K&N was present in full force courtesy Methods Automotive and Four Seasons. They also had on display Remus high performance exhaust systems and Thule cargo boxes. Â The Supercar Club of India, DC Design and Apollo Tyres (and wheels!) and the AutoMission rally school were some of the other participants. Suzuki was there with their Hayabusa and Intruder grabbing a lot of attention! John Abraham and Gautam Singhania had cameras following them at the show inauguration, as you can see in the picture.
The Supercar Club of India displayed the Nissan GT-R, Porsche 911 and the BMW Z4. Skoda Auto India had the mouth watering 2.0 TSI Octavia RS – it will be known as Laura RS if it makes its way into India. We certainly hope it does make it here!  The JCB Twin Turbo Diesel Streamliner which has set some top speeds records was also present at the event. The Diesel Max had been designed jointly with Ricardo, Corus and Royal Air Force (UK). Students from K.J. Somaiya College of Engineering were present with their Formula SAE car at the event entrance. We sorely missed the high performance ICE setups and the fancy tuner cars that were normally present at previous shows. So understandably, it was a slightly de-tuned show and was more like a generic auto show this year.
