Various test mules of Audi's next-gen Q7 have been spotted doing the rounds abroad, leading us to believe that work on the car is going on at a rapid pace. In fact, this time a test mule was spotted again, revealing some changes.
The well-camouflaged car hides its body well but does give us a hint of the changes the carmaker plans to bring in. The Y-shaped LED DRLs are seen on the fascia, while the front overhangs have been shortened. The vehicle is expected to be underpinned by the MLB platform which will assist the company to reduce the overall weight of the car by 360 kilograms. Replicating what the current Q7 has to offer, the new generation vehicle's cabin will also offer a high quality interior.
Audi might consider powering the new Q7 by a smaller 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine and this would be the first time the carmaker would make such a drastic change in the full-size SUV. Due to the loss in weight, the new Q7 is also expected to offer better fuel efficiency. The company might offer the car in a range of petrol and diesel options.
Audi has been successfully selling the Q7 since 2006 amongst the full-size luxury SUVs available all over. The upcoming vehicle is expected to duplicate what the present model has done when it goes on sale later in 2015.
