Audi sold 4,38,250 units globally in the first quarter this year. In comparison to the brand's global sales in the same period in 2014, this shows a growth of 6.1 per cent.
The company announced that this hike in sales is a collective effort with growth seen in all regions all over. In March 2015, the manufacturer sold 1,77,950 cars showing a boost of 4.4 per cent in sales. With this success, the company has achieved a growth in sales for 63 months in a row.
Luca de Meo, Board Member for Sales and Marketing at Audi AG, said, "Our new record in the first quarter makes for a successful start into the new year, and we intend to continue this trend throughout the rest of the year. In the second half of the year our new Audi Q7 will also start contributing to these figures in Europe. The initial response by customers and dealers has been very good, and orders are already exceeding our expectations – even before the model has hit the showrooms."
With the new products from Audi being launched in the coming months, the sales numbers are only expected to get better. The latest product from the carmaker will be the next-gen Audi Q7, which will go on sale in the UK in the coming months. We can expect Audi India to launch the SUV for the Indian market by the end of this year.
