Amidst much speculation and uproar Audi launched its sports coupe - the Audi A7 Sportback in Delhi today. This A7 has two engine variants: a 3-litre TDI V6(diesel) and a 3-litre TFSI(petrol) with the basic version of two cars priced at Rs 64 lakh each.
The A7 Sportback is a smart five-door coupe and is meant for the younger generation. Both engine variants are electronically limited to 250kmph top speed. The new Audi A7 Sportback will debut in India with the 3.0 TDI V6 engine which produces 500 Nm of torque at 1400 - 3250 rpm and 180 kW (245 hp) at 4000 - 4500 rpm. S tronic and quattro drive are standard with this engine. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 6.3 seconds and top speed is limited to 250 km/h. Audi claims a fuel consumption of 6.0 liters per 100 km on average.
Options such as Audi xenon plus headlights with LED( daytime running lights),keyless go, Audi drive select, driver and front passenger climate seats with ventilation, a BOSE® sound system can be selcted. You can add the above-mentioned features to the base version or get them stock for a price tag of Rs 95 lakh.
The car was unveiled by Deepika Padukone and will be available at the dealerships later this month. The Audi A7 Sportback was selected as the winner of the 'Auto Bild' Design Summit 2011. The five-door coupé was voted No.1 by a wide margin for its outstanding design.
Audi has also launched the RS5 with a 4.2-litre petrol engine. This is priced at Rs 76 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
