Spy shots of the new Audi A4 which debuted in Detroit earlier this year have made a comeback on the internet. Only this time it’s the A4L, a model that is meant to be sold specifically in the Chinese market.
Audi’s A4L looks similar to the regular version and carries the same grille and headlamps. Sources reveal that this stretched version is expected to be unveiled on April 25th at the Beijing Auto Show. We have some sketchy details which lead us to concluding that the A4L is longer by 8.8cm and the extra space has been utilised to benefit the legroom for the rear passengers.
The A4L will come in two versions, a 40TFSI that will be equipped with a 190bhp 2.0-litre petrol motor and a 45TFSI engine that will put out 252bhp. The 45TFSI variant will have quattro and both motors will be mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. While the A4L is speculated to hit Chinese roads by the middle of 2016, prices are expected to range from 270,000 to 550,000 yuan (Rs 27.75 lakh to Rs 56.53 lakh).
