Audi A3 is relatively a new car, but that hasn’t stopped the German carmaker from building a maniac 517bhp variant of it. The Clubsport Quattro concept made its onlinedebut today and will be shown to the world at the Wörthersee Car Show that is set to begin May 28.
Based on the S3 sedan, the Clubsport borrows the five-cylinder 2.5-litre TFSI engine from the RS Q3 to make an insane 517bhp and 600Nm. This is about 222bhp more than the S3 sedan. Getting all this power down isn’t too difficult with the onboard launch control – 0 to 100kmph comes in 3.6 seconds and the Clubsport is capable of touching a top speed of 310kmph. As the same suggests, the power is delivered to all wheels via the famous Quattro system and the seven-speed S tronic is standard like on all performance Audi cars.
The Clubsport is painted in Magnetic Blue exterior colour and gets aggressive styling. The Matrix headlamps, a long CRPF (carbon fibre) blade under the front grille, big rear-diffusers and dual oval tailpipes differentiates it from other A3 models. Inside it gets a layout similar to the A3 and additionally gets bucket seats with four-point seatbelts.
However, Audi hasn’t announced any plans to put the A3 Clubsport Quattro concept into production as yet.
In India, we are expecting the A3 sedan to be launched anytime in July. It will compete with the upcoming Mercedes CLA sedan in India. Expect Audi to price it around Rs 22-25 lakh.
