In a bid to have more environmentally friendly models in its line-up, Audi is looking to introduce more electric vehicles in the market. According to Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler, the German automaker will launch two pure electric vehicles by 2018.
The two models in question could be an electric sports car and a sporty SUV. The latter would be an all-wheel drive model with a driving range of more than 500kilometre. The sports car, meanwhile, could take the form of an e-tron version of the R8, the brand’s flagship performance model.
Looking to increase the prospects of further developing its EV range, Audi would be adding at least 2 billion euros ($2.4 billion) to its investments by 2019.
