German luxury carmaker Audi will be launching the second generation A4 sedan in India tomorrow. The fifth generation sedan in the global market which is due for India launch tomorrow, is not just lighter by about 95kgs but also offers more space to the occupants. The new model will compete against the likes of BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Jaguar XF.
The new Audi A4 will be powered by a 1.4-litre TFSI petrol engine mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch AT which puts out 148bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Sometime later, the German automaker might also introduce a diesel version which will be powered by a 2.0-litre TDI engine. The new second generation Audi A4 for India is based on the Volkswagen’s MLBevo platform. As for the exterior, the front comes with a new sharp hexagonal grille and sharp headlamps with split DRLs.
Inside, the new Audi A4 features new dashboard layout and panels. Additionally, the sedan also gets more enhanced upholstery for a premium feel. The dashboard also features a 12.3 inch TFT display which also allows the driver to customise the layout of the speedo and tachometer dials as and when required. Along with all modern safety features, the new generation of the premium sedan will also come loaded with dual zone climate control, rear AC vents, advanced MMI infotainment system and much more. Audi will reveal the price for the new A4 tomorrow. Ahead of its official announcement, we anticipate it to be priced between Rs 33 lakh – Rs 38 lakh.
