Get ready for some driving fun as the wind blows through your hair while you drive the new A3 Cabriolet. Audi will launch the convertible sports car in Delhi tomorrow.
The automaker had showcased the A3 Cabriolet at the Auto Expo at the start of this year. Based on the A3 sedan, this sports car is a four-seater with a retractable roof top. This soft fabric roof can open or close electro-hydraulically at the press of a button, in less than 18 seconds, at speeds of up to 50kmph. The sportier looking vehicle is a two-door version of the entry-level A3 sedan. The cabin gets features similar to the ones in the A3 sedan but the company might also offer optional features setting it apart from the sedan.
Globally, the Audi A3 Cabriolet is available in two petrol and one diesel engine option. The petrol variants include the 1.4-litre TFSI motor and the 1.8-litre TFSI mill that produce 140bhp and 180bhp of power respectively. The diesel version is powered by the 2.0-litre TDI engine that churns out 150bhp of power. The transmission options include a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch gearbox.
The introduction of the A3 Cabriolet will bring in another option of a convertible car amongst the few that are available now in India like the Mini Cooper, Porsche Boxster etc. It might be priced in the range of Rs 45 lakh to Rs 50 lakh and will belong to a niche segment in our country.
