Audi is to unveil the new A5 during a lightshow at its museum in Ingolstadt, Germany on June 2. There’s hardly any specifics available on the new Audi A5, as spy pictures have not revealed any details.
Though Audi added in the statement that only the regular version has been upgraded, it will be safe to guess that the S5 coupe should also be in the works. From what we gather from the pictures so far, the new A5 has design traits from both the new A4 and the outgoing A5, with a decidedly wider stance.
Audi’s new A5 should use the identical turbocharged 2.0-litre mill, albeit in a different state of tune. However, it’s likely that the eight-speed auto could be replaced by the new seven-speed dual clutch ‘box. In addition to the standard front-wheel drive, the Quattro all-wheel drive should be offered as an option. Audi India currently sells the S5 and the new car should ultimately make its way here when launched.
