Audi is planning to lift the covers off the third Prologue concept car at the Auto Shanghai 2015 motor show in China, later this month. Called Prologue Allroad concept, this model will be the predecessor of the next generation Audi A6, which will be globally introduced in 2018.
Details about the Prologue Allroad concept are still sketchy, though we can expect it to feature raised suspension along with traditional ‘Allroad’ styling cues like muscular bumpers and extended wheel arches. It is also expected to get some rugged design elements inside as well to justify the ‘Allroad’ tag. Under the bonnet, we can expect it house a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged powerplant, which produces a colossal 597bhp and 750Nm of torque.
The Prologue series of concept cars was first set in motion at the LA Auto Show in November, last year, with the Audi Prologue Avant. Audi followed up with this concept with an updated hybrid version of the concept at the 2015 CES Show earlier this year. The Prologue concept cars mark an important milestone as they give us a peek at the German manufacturer’s plans for its future range of cars. Expect further details to be revealed before the car is officially unveiled at Shanghai.
