It is a known fact now that Audi is on its biggest model offensive. The German carmaker has revamped almost every model and variant in its line-up with a facelift or a new generation while also bringing in newer models. Now, it’s the turn of Audi’s performance division to give us the go-faster versions of these new models and they aren’t delaying either. Audi Sport has dropped a new teaser with no less than six upcoming RS models which are slated to debut before the end of this year.
First up, we’ll finally get the RS Q8 flagship which will become the maddest model to roll out of Ingolstadt. Powering it will be a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 producing anything northwards of 600bhp. The RS Q8 will surely give the Lamborghini Urus and the Porsche Cayenne Coupe, both of which are its siblings, in a manner of speaking, a run for their money.
The same powertrain will also be offered in the RS7 sedan which is the second car in the teaser. A direct rival to the BMW M8 Gran Coupe and the Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door, the RS 7 is quite a head-turner, for it is as handsome as it is aggressive, in its design.
Next in line is the maniacal RS6 Avant. If the performance of the previous-gen RS6 Avant is anything to go by, we expect the new one would be blistering fast as well while offering the practicality of a station wagon.
Joining the RS6 Avant will be the smaller RS4 Avant. Although this one would be a facelift, the refreshed RS4 will adopt the new family design and will likely retain the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 punching out 450bhp/600Nm as the older model.
Last in the line-up is the Q3 duo which will round off the six models. The RS versions of the recently revealed Q3 and its coupe version, the Q3 Sportback, will be powered by the 2.5-litre inline-five turbocharged petrol engine producing around 400 horsepower.
The most likely venue where all six RS models would break cover appears to be the upcoming 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. However, Audi might also decide to introduce them separately at different venues. More details will be revealed in the days to come.
