Audi AG has teased their all-new SUV, the Audi Q8, in form of a sketch. Test mules of the Audi Q8 have been spotted in different stages of completion for a long period of time and this teaser blows the launch bugle. Rumours were abound that we will have to wait till June to see it in flesh, but with the teaser coming in on the eve of Beijing Auto Show, it is just as likely it may break cover in China.
The Audi Q8 is another among the new breed of coupe-SUVs and will compete with the likes of the BMW X6, the Mercedes GLE Coupe etc. It shares its underpinnings with the recently launched Lamborghini Urus and the Bentley Bentayga thanks to VW’s MLB-Evo platform. It gets large alloy wheels which stack it high up while the sloping roofline adds to the style quotient.
Audi has captioned it ‘He carries the genes of the Audi UrQuattro’ which means a four-wheel drive and excellent performance will be standard. To be on the sportier side of the SUV game, we will have to wait and see the spread of powertrain options offered with the Q8.
