At the next month’s Los Angeles Auto Show, Audi will present its first concept model which bears the automaker’s new design language. Conceived under Audi’s new design head Marc Lichte, the concept model, in all probability, will also preview the new range-topping A9 model.
Marc Lichte, who was appointed Head of Audi Design in February 2014, has been reported saying that “the new models will be immediately recognisable as Audi’s, starting with the signature single frame grille which will, however, also represent a major step forward in terms of sportiness”. Audi has even revealed that the LA-bound concept car marks a new beginning in the automaker’s design – both exterior and interior.
The production-spec A9 is expected to be launched in the next three to four years. Expectedly, the vehicle will sit above the existing A8 as the brand’s flagship luxury model. Additionally, one can also expect the high-performance S9 model to eventually join the A9 range.
