Earlier this year, Audi showcased the Q2 crossover and announced that it would be launched by the end of the year. It will be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines in standard guise. Now spy pics reveal that there will also be a high performance version and it will be called the SQ2.
The spy shots indicate that the SQ2 will make use of the same formula that Audi used with the SQ7. Design elements include blacked out grille, body pillars, wheels and a pseudo front and rear splitter which has also been painted in black. The test car makes use of standard halogen lamps but we believe that the production version will get xenons if not LEDs.
There are no shots of the interiors but we believe that it will get the same cabin design as the Q2 but with sporty upgrades like contrast stitching in the seats and chrome elements for the dashboard. Surprisingly, the tail lamps have been lifted from the VW bin and resemble those found on the Polo and Golf.
Finally, this car is likely to debut a few months after the standard vehicle and will be offered with high performance diesel and petrol versions of the stock car’s engine lineup.
